This is a vibrant piece, the hue and intensity of the colour really make this dramatic. Well-done!

Thanks very much. It was meant to be a traditional image, and started off with a tri-colour underpainting. I agonized over where to go next with it for a long time, and it didn't move. Then, one day, I was angry. Really quite pissed-off about something, in fact. And out came the reds, and that afternoon it was over. It was done. Whew. I needed that.

gorgeous - very spare, loose, and the colours make her look like she's made of hot lava...

Thanks very much! She actually evolved from a very traditional flesh tones painting that was overworked and going nowhere over a long period of time. Then one day I was angry and out came the reds and fury, and she was done. Lava, indeed!

*grin* damn, but i love it when that happens, and something previously lifeless comes together and begins to work under the pressure of impulse, emotion or frustration.
Lava indeed...*smiles*

Yes.... when it bursts forth on its own, like lava. I'm going to have to remember that simile. Thanks!
